Miss Kilkenny 2014, Sarah Jane Dunne

Meet Miss Kilkenny Sarah Dunne!
Q. How would you describe yourself both professionally and
personally?
I am ambitious and hardworking; I suppose you could say
these are both professional and personal traits.  I speak my mind, what you see is what you
get.
Q. What first interested you in modelling and pageants, and
are your views still the same?
I have always loved fashion and that is what sparked my
interest in modelling.  I started
entering pageants because I saw it as a way to learn more about modelling and
the industry.  I still hold the same
views because entering Miss Ireland has opened so many doors for me and through
entering pageants I have grown more confident as a model and learned so
much.
Q. How do you feel your life has changed since Miss Ireland?
I received a lot of media attention because I was the first
Traveller to compete in Miss Ireland.  My
life has changed in that I have been able to get my name out there and show
people that there is another side to Travellers, a side that isn’t represented
in the media.  I have recently signed
with Assets modelling agency so there are a lot of positive things happening
for me right now!
Q. Do you feel people treat you differently since getting a
lot of attention and press from being in Miss Ireland?
Well I have been getting a lot more friend requests on
Facebook anyway!   No I wouldn’t
necessarily say that people are treating me different but I would say that
people seem to have an interest in me.
Q. Who is your celebrity fashion/beauty role model and why?
I think Suzanne Jackson is a great role model for any girl
who is interested in the whole celebrity/fashion/beauty thing.  She has grown to become a huge success and
her hard work and determination is evident.
I met her recently and she is a real lady.

Q. What’s your bedtime skincare routine?
Cleanse and tone.  I
do it every night, I am a huge Clarins fan, their skincare is amazing and I use
the cleanser and toner every night before bed.
Q. What are your guilty pleasures?
I love white chocolate, I have a serious addiction!
Q. What’s in your make-up bag?
As I have said I am a big Clarins fan, I use Clarins
foundation, I find it works well on my skin and stays put all day! My mascara
is Maxfactor false lash effect, I have Wet’n’Wild eyeshadow, a handy travel
size – loving this brand of eye shadow, affordable and effective.
Q. What beauty products could you not live without?
The main thing for me is lip balm, especially during the
winter months.  I am prone to getting dry
lips so lip balm is a necessity for me.
I’m loving Balmi strawberry lip balm at the minute.  I also have a Cloud 10 contouring palette
which I bought online a few months ago, I don’t think I will ever go without it
since buying it.  I love my fragrances
too, Victoria Beckham is one of my favourites.
Q.  Any Beauty Tips? Try to avoid heat styling as much as possible, and colouring if you can at all. I use Mane ‘n Tail conditioner and I switch between Mane ‘n Tail shampoo and Head n Shoulders shampoo. I often use my Mane ‘n Tail conditioner as a hair mask, I leave it in my hair for as long as three hours before washing out.

I first met Sarah at the Miss University competition in April and we’ve been friends ever since, and met at Miss Ireland again in July, I love her because shes so down to earth and speaks her mind. She’s such a babe! :)
