Meet Miss Louth Fionnuala Short!

Q. How would you describe yourself both professionally and personally?
I would say professionally I’m punctual and ambitious and personally I’m open, fun-loving and strong minded which sometimes isn’t always a great thing!
Q. What first interested you in modelling and pageants, and are your views still the same?
I’ve always been interested in fashion and beauty as long as I can remember, I started doing bits of modelling here and there when I was about 13 and have only really become full-time since I signed with Andrea Roche last July after the Miss Ireland Pageant. I saw the Miss Ireland Pageant as an opportunity to get myself out there and meet new people, my opinion definitely hasn’t changed since the competition ended I think it’s all a great confidence booster and a stepping stone into the Irish modeling industry, I’m very grateful for the opportunities that have been presented to me since.
Q. How do you feel your life has changed since Miss Ireland?
It’s definitely changed a lot, I’m full time modeling now which was something that I didn’t think would happen for a long time as I’m still quite young.
Q. Do you feel people treat you differently since getting a lot of attention and press from being in Miss Ireland?
I wouldn’t say people treat me differently, not that much has changed! I had a few awkward experiences with the press after I got runner-up but since then everything has been fine.
Q. Who is your celebrity fashion/beauty role model and why?
I love Olivia Palermo’s style, she never gets it wrong it’s the perfect mix of classic and eclectic.
For beauty role models, I love Michelle Phan and Charlotte Tilbury they are such talented makeup artists and Charlotte Tilbury’s makeup line is to die for.
Q. What’s your bedtime skincare routine?
I always make sure that all my makeup is removed before bed! I love Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser as it leaves my face feeling really fresh and clean. My favourite toner is Tonique Douceur also by Lancome, it’s great for my combination skin. Then I would apply a serum I’m currently using Lancomes Visionnaire and then I moisturize with Clarins Hydra Quench cream-gel.
Q. What are your guilty pleasures?
Getting into bed early and replaying episodes of Dawson’s Creek.

Q. What’s in your make-up bag?
If I were to list everything it would take forever! So the things I would bring in my handbag for touching up would be, Dior Star foundation which is my new obsession, Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara, Dior Forever powder foundation compact (which is the best beauty product ever), MAC myth lipstick and Clarins Lip pencil in either Bay Rose or Praline.

Q. What beauty products could you not live without?
I couldn’t live without concealer, I love MAC studio fix concealer.
Q. Any make-up tips?
Brushes make a huge difference, for perfectly blended eyeshadow MAC 217 blending brush is a miracle! It does all the work for you.
I Love the way Fionnuala does her makeup – what a babe !!
